Ann & Brian Lockey have long been interested in photography and, with the advent of digital technology, started making calendars for friends and family. On his early retirement from the Civil Service in 2006, Brian thought an ideal way to try and earn a bob or two was to sell their photographs in the form of cards & calendars.

By this time the couple had bought a plot on Shetland and their new home was being built at Walls on the Westside. What better name for the fledgling business than "Pictures on Walls"?

Westside Photographs

To give you some idea how important Shetland (and especially the Westside) is to photographers and artists have a look at this. This photo of "Lotos" in Vaila Sound was taken at 10.15 on a June evening. The logo shot at the top of the page was taken of the western sky on an August evening. Now don't you agree that Shetland skies are rather special?
